Richard Holdener - Automotive Journalist

Richard Holdener is a technical editor with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry. Despite receiving a BA in Advertising, Richard decided to follow his passion for all things automotive. Early on, he decided to specialize in direct back-to-back dyno testing everything from simple throttle bodies and air intakes to supercharged strokers and the various forms of forced induction. In addition to well over 1,000 technical articles for the various enthusiast magazines, Richard authored the column Under Pressure, dedicated specifically to forced induction, for Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine. Along with the technical articles, Richard has written no less than nine different books, including one on Modular Ford Performance. The performance books for both SA Designs/Cartech and HP Books follow a similar format, where individual components and/or sub systems are thoroughly dyno tested to demonstrate the performance gains offered to the enthusiast. Richard has likely run more direct back-to-back comparisons on Modular Fords than anyone in the industry. Not content to simply stand behind the camera, this hands-on approach has resulted in both National Road Race championships and Land Speed Records at both El Mirage and Bonneville, including membership into the 200-MPH club.
