Dave Clinton is the owner of Darton Sleeves for the past 30 years. We make the only Patented (6,799,541) wet sleeve for the 4.6L, 5.4L cast iron and aluminum blocks. Our patented MID kit converts the block from a dry sleeve to a wet sleeve block and allows you to run a much larger bore and a lot more boost than stock. The kit for the Modular 5.4L Aluminum block was originally designed and made for Ford Racing. This kit was also used by Aeromotive in their Pro 5.0 Cobra allowing them to make the fastest pass in NMRA and Pro 5.0 history. We also made a kit for Ford to be used in their Ford Racing Modular 4.6L blocks making it into a 5.0L block. We are currently working on a 5.4L block with our MID kit for Ford Racing and 4 time NMRA champion John Urist. We are the supplier of sleeves for Ford Racing since 1998.
Darton is the largest manufacturer of performance sleeves. Darton supplies 90% of the pro Top Fuel and Funny Car teams currently running today. Darton is the major supplier to Mopar, TRD, Harley Davidson, Carroll Shelby, Dart, Ed Pink, Esslinger, Fontana, Sassy Racing Engines, Gaerte Engines, Indy Cylinder Head, CN Blocks, BAE, Alan Johnson and many more. Darton is also the only FAA approved cylinder liners.
