John Buck - DYNATECH

AFCO Racing products and Dynatech Headers.
Director of Engineering

John Buck is a 1986 Graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla (BSME) and holds an EMBA from Washington University in St. Louis. John worked in the Aerospace industry for McDonnell Douglas for over 10 years. His passion for automotive work led him to Sunnen Products where he did extensive work on cylinder head re-conditioning equipment. Before coming to AFCO racing products and Dynatech headers John spent 7 years working at Systems and Electronics Inc as a Mechanical engineer and project manager. During this same time frame John was racing in SCCA and holds numerous track records and division titles. John did extensive engine development for Chrysler 2.0L and 2.2L normally aspirated and turbo charged engines with Lambros Race Engineering. He did development work on circle track, drag racing and Bonneville projects with a host of track records and wins. During his professional career John has earned two patents, Nickel Metal Hydride Battery apparatus for Space applications and another for a Stabilized Gimbal for Weapons Systems.

Johns appetite for racing and high performance led him to AFCO Racing products and Dynatech Headers about 3 ½ years ago. He leads a design team that is responsible for all product lines at AFCO racing products. John’s focus on the Dynatech side of the business has resulted in an impressive list of new products. The last three and a a half years have seen the launch of many SuperMaxx systems, which include Stainless Steel Headers, Catalytic converters and y-pipes. Included in this list are the Corvette C-6, Z-06, GTO, SSR, Ford Mustang GT, Ford GT500 and the Dodge SRT-8. In all over 20 new SuperMaxx systems have been developed with John leading the engineering efforts. John led the launch of the MuscleMaxx line of performance tip to tip exhaust systems for Muscle Car applications. Included in this line is small block versions of the Gen I and II Camaro’s, along with the Nova and Chevelle. John’s team was responsible for the LS-1 conversion header for the Gen I Camaro. Dynatech has earned the reputation in the truck market as well. John’s team has developed applications for Chevy, Ford and Dodge trucks through ’08 in the SuperMaxx line of products. John’s led the development of several new Circle Track header projects in addition to the SuperMaxx and MuscleMaxx product lines.
