Caleb Newman - KATECH

Vice-President, Director Aftermarket Operations

Newman is a 1998 graduate of California Polytechnic State University (BSME, automotive engineering core) and holds an MSE in industrial engineering (high performance engine optimization core) from the University of Central Florida. His passion for product design and street performance led him to Katech in 1999 when he was instrumental in facilitating the company’s ISO:9001-2000 certification. Soon after, he helped direct Katech’s highly successful Cadillac CTS-V race engine and Cadillac XV16 concept engine development programs.

Presently, Newman is charged with directing day-to-day operations and long-term corporate strategy for the company’s aftermarket brand – Katech Performance. Katech Performance-modified vehicles have recently graced the covers of AutoWeek, Corvette, GM High-Tech Performance and Vette magazine and have been featured on SPEED Channel and PowerBlock TV (Spike).

A member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) International, Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and SEMA’s Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC), Newman has previously presented technical seminars at prominent industry events including PRI and the SAE Motorsports Engineering Conference (MSEC).

For 31 years Katech engines have produced hundreds of wins in racing’s most prestigious leagues, culminating in more than 50 championships including ALMS GT1 and GTS, Le Mans GT1 and GTS, SCCA World Challenge GT, Grand-Am Rolex GT, IMSA RS, GTU, Kelly American, WSC, 5 Trans Ams, 3 Busch Grand National, 3 ASA and A.J. Foyt’s 1998 IRL championship.
